Brain Fart
Thoughts for the day:
*L&O:SVU was dumb last night. Dumb dumb dumb. Even though I'm loving Olivia's hair.
*MNiE was disappointing, even with the Cyndi Lauper boombox montage.
*I still have a tiny bit of popcorn - that indigestible bit - stuck at the very back of my mouth and I cannot shift it. It makes me hate popcorn.
*Mick Kelty sounded sad and utterly exhausted on the radio this morning. I felt a slight twinge of sympathy for him, then remembered I don't like him at all. So I got over it.
*I'm confused about East Timor. I don't get it. And I really should. After all - my brother served as a peacekeeper there during the fight for Independence. My sister spent months over there as an AFP official after the riots last year. And I still DO NOT KNOW what is actually happening and what the 'Issues' are. And now the SAS are hunting some Brazilian footballer in the jungles. Weird.
*I got my hair cut on Wednesday, and am cranky. MrB has taken to referring to me as Helen, as I now have a fringe that is, well, bouncy and 'bang-y' in a Bad Way. Very Helen Hunt circa Mad about You. I, myself, have decided it looks way more soccer mom. Not Happy. Last time I take advice from a bunch of bloggers! Actually - I blame the hair dresser - she just made my hair look like hers. Stupid fringe.

oh poor you! too bad about the hairs dearest. you should have gone to where i go. 100% satisfaction every time...
is it possible to marry a hairdressing salon?
Sounds like you have bad hair envy. Why didn't you take a photo of Olivia to the salon? Oh, and how's Mabel?
mex: My hairdresser is on maternity leave. Selfish cow that she is. It'll be ok once it grows. I hope.
Donnie: Massive hair envy. And does it date me badly that I giggled about Mabel?
I had my haircut yesterday. I've got Posh at the back and Nanna at the front. HELP!!!
I think Mick Kelty was missing his moustache...
What happened to the Josie Bissett look?
I TOLD you not to cut it. I said you'd regret it and now look at you. Well don't come crying to me, missy.
(But I feel your pain. I still am not used to my lack of hair and it's been a few weeks now)
meva: Now if it was the other way round it wouldn't matter so much - becasue then you wouldn't have to be looking at it yourself! I have no idea how to offer constructive advice though :(
surfer: He does look iffy now he's clean-shaven. And the haircut got lost in the translation I think.
OMel: I know. I'm so ashamed. *hangs head*
It would have been ok if she'd done what I asked... And the back is great - lots of lovely long layers so it's bouncy and healthy looking, but still long. But the fringe... That's another story.
Is it really sad of me to admit to loving last night's episode of My Name is Earl?
It had cats! And Cyndi Lauper toons! And er...cats!
Good one, AB.
Back to your best again...
Oh no! I provided bad hair advice, I hate it when i do that. Did she cut it too short? Not those lovely long fringe types?
As long is it isn't as short as my old one you will be fine - fringes grow out very quickly
pom: I've worked out what the problem was - not enough Joy. Cyndi just couldn't fill the Joy-shaped hole.
fingers: yeah - the pressure to perform can be a killer. And so disappointing for all concerned, as you would be well aware...
KR: No, the advice was good - the actual hair-cutting was bad. And it will grow out and be sideways and flippy and wispy and lovely. And peace will reign over the Earth.
Hello!
This work is very good, thank you
have nice wkend
Helen Hunt had great hair in her Mad About You days.
My theory about any of the L&O or CSI shows is that you only actually need to watch one episode of each, since they are all exactly the same every week.
The original Law & Order was a great show when they started making it. If only they had stopped about 10 years ago, all would have been well.
This applies to The Simpsons too.
But not to CSI. That show should never have started.
This is perhaps a long winded way of saying I have nothing useful to contribute on the East Timor issue.
Oh actonb, bad haircuts are the worst.
Just keep consoling yourself with the "it will grow out" mantra.
Mr Santos: Why, erm, thank you, kind sir.
INC: The original L&O was amazingly powerful TV. And it used to be on so late - I'd watch it before going to work my graveyard shrifts at Maccas. It was so thoughtful and confronting and... wow.
And Helen Hunt had great 90s hair. And also was blond, and quite gorgeous. I am neither of these things and am therefore quite unable to pull it off.
And East Timor has you befuddled too hey?
W: It will grow out. I'm the little engine that could...
