Bad Hair Day

OK, I'm over my long hair now.

It's been a year since I had it trimmed last, and now it's halfway down my back. And I'm bored with it, and all this 'embracing the length' is kinda boring and time-consuming now.

And I cannot get it to not frizz. Not that I've actually tried, y'know, blow-drying it or anything, because I have zero time for that type of primp-and-frippery. My only concession has been to invest in Tresemme's 'Anti-frizz' shampoo, and that's done nothing.

NOTHING I tells you.

And I'm sick of waking up in the middle of the night being strangled by my own hair.

Gurgle Gurgle Choke Choke. (& etc)

I'm seriously considering investing in a hairnet. Even if it would make me look like my 80 year-old grandmother. Because I'm sick of the Medium moments I'm having of late.

Speaking of which, I watched it last night, well bits of it, flicking between it and Without a Trace.

And I am rather in love with Patricia Arquette's hair. That cute little bob. So bouncy and flirty yet also professional and business-like. And she spends like NO time doing her hair, so it must be seriously low maintenance... It reminds me of the haircut I had in Year 12. From the front at least. It was kind of completely shaved at the back.

Anyway...

I like the idea of a bob again.

Or at least a fringe.

But then I'm worried I'd look like Lisa Oldfield, and this is a Bad Thing, obvs.

Oh anonymous friends of the internerds! What shall I dooooooo?????????

I am obviously very unqualified to advise you because I am growing my hair - and I have a fringe.

I love my fringe. I have almost always had one and when I try and grow it out I always go back. It frames the face beautifully. I should really write an ode to the much maligned and mangled fringe.

The bob could be a bad idea if you have frizzy hair.

And whats wrong with the chick in blue, she looks ok to me??

KR - I'm thinking def try the fringe. I can always let it grow out again I guess.

Or maybe not.

See, this is my damn problem.

Shroom - Oh! Love me again do ya? Hmmm? My hair was never frizzy before I grew it. It mystifies me.

And the chick in blue is LISA OLDFIELD. That's what's wrong with her.
Der.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I now have an unwanted bob. The brown wouln't come out of the ends of my hair so my hairdresser just cut it all off. With minimal consultation. It broke my heart.

As much as everyone says it's nice, it's just wrong. Where is my hair??

Just don't go the chop, you'll regret it!

I like your hair - and I didn't notice any frizz last I saw you.

Though I do very much understand the night strangulation. Try wearing it up while you sleep?

Is she related to mike oldfield of tubular bells fame? If so she needs to tell him that IT DOES sound like the same mong playing all the instruments on his album AND THATS NOT a good thing.

OMel - Minimal consultation? Oh no! Didn't some woman sue a hairdresser for that last year?

I know that if I do cut it off I'll regret it immediately. Which is why I'm dithering... As per usual.

surfer - Oh! She has cute hair. With no fringe. I just have no idea who she is...

LaRue - It's not massively frizzy, just not sleek. It may all be in my head of course. And I do put it up, but it escapes during the night...

Shrooms - even worse. She's married to David Oldfield - he of the One Nation (and Survivor) fame.

You could try the slightly longer, swept across fringe like a lot of the actresses do - it is more versatile than the short blunt fringe which I favour. Ummm maybe Sarah Michelle Gellar?

KR - what a good idea. I hadn't actually thought about that. And if I could magically have SMG's figure too, I'd be pretty darn happy!

I'm sorry, AB. But the most recent shots of SMG I've seen worry me.

As would you if you were so skinny.

Oh, oh I second Killerrabbit and say go with the side swept fringe.

One it frames the face very well, is terribly low maintenance because meh it's a fringe not the whole hair. Plus if you go for the longer length if you don't like it it takes next to no time to grow out.

I love my fringe.

But can we see photos of the hair when you do?

yay go with the side swept thing. i did after it taking my hairdresser 3 trips to convince me.

you should go to a good hairdresser and tell her what you like about your hair, what you dont like and what you like to do with it (up or down/blow or not) etc and let her/him give you some advice. i did and got the rockinest hair do. (in a good way)
