TomSkat

Oright, I'm officially OVER the whole Tom Cruise - Katie Holmes shenanigans.

Like completely and utterly over it. Which would be why I'm dedicating a whole entire post to them. But I shall be pouring scorn all over them, so that's OK.

I would have been perfectly happy remaining in my blissful ignorance of all things TomKat, and leave to enjoy their, um, 'relationship' in peace and quiet... Except they felt compelled to waggle their togetherness in my face at every given opportunity. And it's not just the Meeja and us, the Consumerds that have driven this - it's about them using the Media Machine. Which means that they deserve all the harassment they get. This may seem harsh, but hell! It's 9:30 on a Monday morning, I am still inadequately caffeinated, and I'm sick of the sight of the Cruises mugs on every website I come across. Sick of em I tell you.

Actonb's harsh, biting commentary on the TomKat Wedding:
  • They hadn't got civil permission for the wedding, so it isn't even legal. Don't let me rant for a good couple of hours on the fact that this shows their complete arrogance and assumption that the normal rules don't apply to them.
  • And it made me sad that Catholic-raised No-sex-till-I'm-married Katie has been dragged to the Dark Side... and no Catholic priest could marry them because Cruise is a) twice-divorced and b) a certifiable fruitcake.
  • The dress was made by Georgio Armani and was a vomitous nightmare.
  • And it was white.
  • Which provokes the prude in me to do much tut-tutting and head-shaking...
  • Because their 7 month old baby attended the wedding.
  • In a castle. Now if you want your wedding in a castle, either you go kinda low-key yet classy (Madonna) or waaaaay OTT and have matching thrones and shit (PoshnBecks). This one looked try-hard. A try-hard $2 million bogan wedding in a castle.

And it's not just me. MrB, who professes to have no opinion whatsoever on anything to do with 'popular culture', took one look at the Official Wedding Photo, and said "How sad, neither of them look happy at all. It's their Wedding Day, and they're not happy" And it's true.

It's sad. And they don't appear happy. Because True Love should shine through even the boganest of weddings.

Bugger. I have been trying to post the OWP, but I'm assuming blogger's having a spaz attack. Shall continue to valiantly battle blogspot....
