Bloody traffic...

ARGH! In a feral mood this morning - damn well crawled up the F6. Although the spectacle of a burning Combi was worth it for the first 30 minutes...

Anyhoo.

Interesting points about this weekend to share with my imaginery friends...

  1. Had an expedition to Surry Hills to meet with my friends Jude, Jacq & Sarah. We went to Bourke St Bakery, at the insistence of Jacq, who lives in Hornsby and is sick of only reading about nice bakery goods. Even the queue out the door didn't put her off. Although the weird lady with the green glasses who tried to steal our table almost did. Said lady then sat and blatently eavsdropped on our covnersation. And took notes. So if there is a scene in a forthcoming novel in which 3 earnest escapees from the suburbs are sitting ranting in an inner-city bakery with their cool and normal friend, you know who is was...

  2. I do believe BLTs are the most delctable and yumptious of the sandwich genre.

  3. Michel's Jaffa Mudcake is considerably less feral than one would have thought.

  4. I erupted in much hand-clapping and squealing when Lady80 informed me there will be the sound of pitter-pattering of tiny feet in the Bunker next May. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. And, erm, congratulations to Daddy Downtown too I guess...

  6. The RevJ is an absolute dead-set legend. Just saying. You Pymble bluebloods better treat her right. Or Else...

A real live proper post to follow shortly.

Ooo, Bourke St Bakery is tres yum. Excellent Pain au chocolat and their sausage rolls are fab.

Unfortunately, a mere 5 minute walk from my house.

W - I did think of you as I was sitting there. I was wondering when you flew back in, and contemplated giving you a call. Obviously I got caught up in the drama... I had the pork and fennel sausage roll, and it has to be the best sausage roll I've ever had. It was dayam good.
