Easter Blahness

I really want to gloss over the last couple of days, although I'm not entirely sure why... I had some fantastic days and some pretty ordinary episodes, so, um, I dunno? Maybe a couple of dot points can help to explain:

* The girls went to their last Saturday morning dancing class - AFL starts after Easter, and footy wins over ballroom dancing (they were given the choice). However, since they're still adoring it and we've gone and invested in some Fabulous Silver dancing shoes for them, it looks like we'll just have to start going along to the Adults Beginners Ballroom lessons on Tuesday night, as they run a *free* kids class at the same time... This is something we've been talking about doing for our entire marriage, so yay! for only taking 12 years to get our arses into gear...

* I bought a Dyson Vacuum cleaner...

Please... admire it's dysonny beauty... and it matches my kitchen too!

(And don't worry - I didn't spend the million gazillion dollars of my own money - it's a 'Business Expense')

* I got no chocolate. None! Unless you count the leftover M&M Speckled Eggs that mum bought for the girls. And I don't. And no books neither (the B family alternative to chocolate)...
RIPPED OFF!

* Miss M bought herself a lilac-coloured beanie, and wore it all weekend, regardless of prevailing weather conditions. Her hair just curls out the bottom making her look entirely gorgeous.

* We went down to Berry to check out Mum & Dad's new house - the slab is down, and the frame is up - and the girl's were being 'ghosts' walking through walls...

* I cooked lamb shanks (Irish shanks - with half the shoulder still attached) which simmered for the 6 hours I was down in Berry. SO DAMN GOOD! yum yum yum (etc) And especially when matched with a Chapel Hill Shiraz. And the rain on the tin roof. One of the better moments!

* Church was... difficult. And made even more so by the decision to play a Colin Buchanan song for a 'quiet, reflective' period. Me, I just reflected on how much I DETEST the man, so that probably wasn't very helpful really. Me and Colin, we have 'issues'. MrB says I need to forgive him, I say "ha! I don't have to forgive him until he asks..." Me and petulance, we also have 'issues'.
And no Resurrection hymns! Can you believe it???
And also, no minster standing at the door wishing the congregation farewell... Our old minister may have been so terribly Old School, but he knew that, especially on Easter Sunday, the minsters place is by that door, greeting people...

MrB and I have decided enough is enough... we're officially church-hunting again, and will be visiting the local Baptists this Sunday. We attended a Baptist church in the UK, and have never felt so loved, so part of a community (Although this may be rose-coloured glasses). We Shall See.

What congregation are you a part of now actonb? I don't think I ever asked. Bad W, bad.

Oh W! I'm glad I can count on you to share my love of appliances... Let us be nerds together, and rejoice in the bagless suction power of the dyson...
And we go to an Anglican Church. In the Syndey Diocese. But are NOT Sydney Anglicans...

I want a Dyson - so very jealous!!

And Berry - I love too. (spent all holidays and one w'end a month in Gerringong - so many happy memories down that way)

Sorry you have to go church hunting. My sister-in-law had that problem when they moved. You'll find something - have faith!! (yeah - a cheap pun - but you know what I mean!!)

I had a belly ache from all the chocolate I snooked from the kids stash last night - that will teach me............ok............no it probably won't.

Off to have a cuppa - and maybe just a little piece more of choc.......

I don't want a vacuum cleaner. I want a housekeeper. And a cook. A gardener would be nice, too.

And I also want some of your lamb shanks with associated wine and rain. Sounds blissy.

Hehe actonb. I had the Sydney Anglican discussion on Saturday. I just cannot bring myself to go and support that man and his backwards thinking with my presence, so I have to think about where I want to go.

And yay for nerdliness. We need a new vacuum and I am so thinking of a Dyson. cat hair beware!

possum - gerringong and Berry are lovely indeed, although getting more popular and yuppified. And the church-hunting is so tedious. It's why we've been putting it off.

meva - Oh! I'd love a housekeeper too, but not a cook... the lamb was perfect, and there's some leftovers if you want them Express-Posted!

W - The Jensen's just don't realise the damage they are doing... Seriously. But there are some great inner-city churches that are still Anglican, but not in the thrall of St Andrews. If you're interested I'll get the RevJen to give me some suggestions.

Mex - It's not rude at all to worship hung! Just a tad difficult I'd assume... The Dyson-envy is entirely understandable... I was running around showing people how much dirt was on my floor, I'm so sad... And thanks for the lovely thoughts - I was thinking of you as I drove home through the increasing traffic and was glad I got to stop where I did! Yikes! South Coast Holiday traffic is the worst!
