... and in an endeavour to further underline just how fun and excitement parenthood can be, today:
  • Miss M chipped one of the bones in her toe, after stubbing it against the door frame. MrB drew the short straw and took her up to A&E.
  • The Family B visited the dentist... to be told that I need my wisdom teeth removing, and that Miss M (age 9) is to be referred to the orthodontist in 6 months time. The yayness just keeps coming...
  • MrB and I had to schedule appointments with both Miss M and H's teachers. They got their reports yesterday. The reports bear no relation no anything, ever. They make no sense. And we discovered that actually, teachers are Dumb. With no idea. The End. (Actually, only primary teachers... no, actually only primary teachers at my daughters' school) Dear Lord! Please let the new principal sort it out...
  • We had an awesome game of handball in the school playground (while another parent tore strips off Miss M's teacher) Heh. You forget how fun handball is. And how fun it is to beat a selection of 6,7 and 9 year olds...
  • We had tea at Chilli's (not 50m from where the truck went through the window of Maccas) at Fairy Meadow, to celebrate the great year the girls have had. It was fun. Loud but fun. The large margarita helped.

I'm now full and feeling slightly queasy, but shall go and recline in a bubbley bath with James Bond (Goldfinger) and a nice glass of red. Wake me up when it's over...

Oh no! I stubbed my toe so badly the other year I broke my foot in three places. I feel Ms M's pain. Bastard toes.

The A&E is it's own special version of hell... mixing with the great unwashed, all the while knowing that the triage system means "first in" may not be "best dressed" and that the duration of the agony will be inverse proporation to the civility of the hour of the day... Yeeech.
