Show and Tell

Ok.

So.

Good things about the weekend:

Die Hard 4.0 rocks. Although I may have given you this impression already. Bruce Willis? He also rocks the 50s in his own unique way. Yes sirree.

I had lunch with my Gang, my Posse, my Homegirls. That also rocked, but in a far more civilised way, mainly because Verdehlo was involved. Verdehlo and lamb salad. And talk and love. All good stuff, I'm sure you agree. And dates were set for brunch at Bathers, to ensure that it's not another 10 bloody months till we all get together again.

The weather was glorious and sunny and quite delightful.

Bad things about the weekend:

The green snot just keeps coming. There's only so much ewww I can handle at the moment.

And now the Big Girls are displaying flu-like symptoms.

Girls + Cronulla Brunch = 3 hours of pure and unmitigated stress. I think we shall have to put such activities on hold for a while. MrB and I were completely worn out, with every nerve jangling. Not fun.

Also not fun: Going off to Franklins for BBQ sauce, napkins and juice (because I'm a cheapskate) and coming back to discover ALL the chips and fish cocktails had been eaten. And being too worn down to even care...

And now I'm at home for the second day this week, with sick kiddies and the beginnings of a cold myself. I ask you: Does life get any better than this???? (rhetorical question)

We are living the same life! I adored seeing Die Hard 4 last weekend. It is truly AWESOME!

And I am getting heartily tired of the Snot Streamers of Slimy Sickiness as well.

There are really not enough words to describe the AWESOMENESS of Die Hard 4. Seriously. Except the plane bit. That was just *too* much. But only the tidgiest bit too much, so I was instantly forgiving.

And re snot: WHERE DOES IT ALL COME FROM?????

i was pleased and proud when Grizzlewick took himself off to get a tissue without involving me in the process this morning (a first in our house - usually he comes at me screaming "MUMMY!!!! I NEED A TISSUE!!!!!" when the box is sitting right next to him)

Also if you can't use barbecue sauce for your barbecue, can I recommend its inclusion in home-made meat pies, shepherds' pie, and pretty much any other mince-based meal you might make? It is my (no longer quite so) secret ingredient.

Gw, thank you for the hug. It was perfectly timed as I have just had to deal with poo AND snot. They appear to have regressed somewhat.

And I'm glad grizzlewick has made the connection between snot and tissues. And made the quantum leap to actually getting his own. I am still dealing with girls (only the little ones) running to me stating the (quite obvious) fact that 'I have snot'. Yes. Indeed. It's reached your chin already.

PLEASANT!

The BBQ was for the chips, which were all gobbled up. But never fear, BBQ sauce (and it has to be ETA) always gets used in our household!

They leave eating the snot till after the BBQ sauce runs out, then?

Ewww and a bit more ewww. Snot is so disgusting and you have to deal with so much of it at once. The cold and flu season has definitely hit hard this year. Can we blame it on global warming as well?

This is probably the wrong moment for jokes of the "What's the difference between vegetables and snot?" variety.

Our little household has just finished the latest round of the snots and it is my sincerest hope that your kiddies are well again soon.
