Weekend Past
What a glorious weekend we just had! I don't normally like to do a 'This is what I did this weekend' recap, but I'm feeling so damn chipper this morning, that I just feel the need to share...
Saturday:
* Saw a whale off Sandon Point. Yay! Why does the sight of those great galumphing mammals make you go all gooey inside? And it spouted water! Hee!
* Finally managed to get to see the Big Girls play footy. Have been such a slack mummy this season. Miss M was a little... distracted. She'd been reading until Goodness-Knows-When on friday night, so her mind was still on Mr Potter, not on the ball. Miss H was .... Miss H unfortunately. She whinged that no-one kicked the ball to her, even though she was calling for it. I tried to make her understand that as she was lounging around in front of the goalposts ON HER BACK, no-one was seriously going to pass to her. She didn't get it.
* Went into the Gong. Embarrassed myself by referring to it as 'the city'. Quickly corrected myself. Sydney is 'the city' - Wollongong is 'town'. Unfortunately MrB had heard me. Bugger. Was teased mercilessly.
* Bought new sunnies! Bought funky Indian tunics for wearing over jeans and/or cossies. It was that kinda weather. Making me hopeful for cossie-wearing in the nearish future.
* Napped. And read the papers. And napped some more.
Sunday:
* Read the Sunday paper. Always read Mia Freedman's column first. Makes Sunday sparkle for me... Then I read the dodgy 'Seen on the Streets' page. And mock. Then the Weddings page. More mocking.
* Gardening. In my lime green tunic, jeans and thongs. Was the weather for it - all the street seemed to be out in their yards. Very suburban, the roar of the lawn mower, the click of the secateurs, the chatting in the middle of the street while holding a bucket and a hand-fork.... But v comforting nonetheless.
* My wattle bush is flowering! Nothing says sunshine like those little bobbles of wattle-y prettiness!
* Tortellini with my all-time fave pasta sauce - tomato, basil and cream.
(We'll ignore the fact the Miss I seems to have developed a gastro bug - her projectile vomiting of tropical fruit juice has been expunged from my consciousness...)

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day up our way (in the city). Like a little burst of summer.
Yes, it was a fantastic sunshine-y day to walk 14 kilometres from the City to Bondi. And then another 3-ish to Bronte where our ride had parked his car (men!?!). And then up the stairs to my apartment. And then sleep in said sunshine.
Sleeping in the sun is the best! It makes me feel like a cat.
