Kiddies! Please! Behave yourselves.
Some examples:
Oh please. You can't really believe that our current crop of spineless wimps are any good for the country can you?
And as for "honest" John, I really wish he would serenely cruise on by. I'll take an honest gutter mouth over a lying stinking jackbooted weasle any day. I am glad to see people are finally starting to wake up to this abominable, fascist, fear mongering, deceitful bastard. His own party can't even take him at his word. Seriously, if I saw Howard in the street, I'd accelerate. It'd be my civic duty.

Have you seen the latest unemployment figures? At a 30 year low, so the lying, stinking, jackbooted weasel seems to be doing something right. And another thing...the abominable, fascist, fear mongering, deceitful bastard has choked off the flow of queue-jumping 'asylum seekers' pretty effectively too. Now, if only he could learn to spray some decent abuse like Paul Keating, he'd be set for ANOTHER 10 years!!
Or perhaps YOU could give him lessons?

I would love to gim him a lesson, oh man, the lesson I could teach him. Taking away people's right to welfare and forcing them to work is not leadership or good economics, it's evil at it's worst. Locking up women & children who are looking to escape the hell they live in, claiming these same people have thrown their children overboard, denying them rights given to them by the UN, lying to the Australian people, allowing bribes to be paid to tyrants so they can purchase weapons, aligning himslef with the world's most evil leader (GWB) etc.. These are traits that you find admirable?? I wouldn't just accelerate AC-1, I'd reverse after i'd hit him and have another go. Now that's good civic duty!

Forcing people to work! Oh horrors! Far better to let the idle bastards sit around on welfare ( which the rest of us pay for),eating maccas and watching Oprah. And to think that swine Howard wants them to work, my goodness me!
And he's locked up people who have paid people smugglers to get them here illegally, jumping past all the others who have applied properly! The man is clearly beyond redemption!
( I wonder why he keeps getting elected though?)

And then there's the classic:
Now I like a healthy political debate as much as the next girl, but for goodness sakes! This is just juvenile! Most people I associate with are intelligent, social creatures. This is not how normal people act. This is not what normal people think? Surely?Anti_Citizen One, you are clearly a moronic imbecile..

Firstly Kim Beazley is an obese incompetent halfwit who couldnt organise a root in a brothel, and you want people like him to lead our country? what a disgrace. Secondly please remember that you are not being chained to this glorious country. You are free to leave at any time.
Or do people actually think?
I have a friend who is completely and utterly apathetic when it comes to politics. He wouldn't vote if he didn't have to. He deliberately tunes out whenever anything remotely political comes on the radio. (And I needn't worry about offending him, as he won't read this post - he'll skim it, see it's about politics, then ignore it) And this is something I Just Don't Get. Where's the passion? Where's the participation in community? Where's the recognition that we are social creatures with responsibilities?
But then you end up with too much passion, to the extent that perception is skewed, and the result is the hurtful name-calling detailed on Radar. There is no longer the ability to see the other side of the argument - there is no desire to see it. Opinions are so entrenched, so deeply ingrained, that logic can no longer be applied... And if logic can't be applied, then neither can compassion.
It just makes me so sad - sad for our country, sad for the world, sad for each and every one of us. Because if we hate political ciphers with such intensity, then what hope have we got in dealing with real people...? It's all so very very Animal Farm. And getting worse.

I have a theory that Radar is being watched on a daily basis by various government departmetns and international corporations. Remember when Dom mentoined the new five blade razor and suddenly all these people who had just come back from a trip to the States were singing its praises? Remember when Dom mentioned taxis and all of a sudden people where claiming that the Macquarie Bank should take over the taxi comanies and then they would be all better? Remember the Sabrina whatsername fiasco? Or the Chess pinup fiasco?? There are far too many polarised opinions for it to not be shadow puppets.
And they are watching you too original mel muhahahahahqaha
It would have to be party stooges. I'm hoping it's party stooges.
Because that much hatred is making me ill.
It is actually just a small handful of people going on and on and on.
I tend to tune out when it gets like that. Although it can be funny ...
There's a name for the 'professional' political blog-watchers whose job it is to scan the web/media for political discussions...but I can't remember what it is.
They just wade in with the party line but you can spot them a mile off coz they're armed with the sort of facts/figures that average people just don't give a flying fuck about...
Yeah Chesty, True Blue Aussie was my fave. He certainly gave the Sabrina thing a good flogging. He just would not let that horse die in peace.
yeh 22% of people on that blog have siphilus if they like kin beazley
I've always taken an active interest in politics. Now that a lot of my friends work in politics I have to say even though they're highly informed (mainly because they're writing the policies and speeches the politicians are spouting) there's a fanaticism which is tiring and unsettling.
I have a rule that there's a minimum of shop talk when we hang out, because sometimes I just have other things I find more interesting.
Like alcohol. And boys. You know, the important things.
Yeah and I see that Skeeter dude is trying to draw me out again.
I think I will hide out over here if thats okay.
